How to change the names of multiple points at the same time?

$

Hello,

I am making programs for some of our tooling that require an extensive amount of hits.
These hits will be at different levels (varying the z axis) and will use the same x and y values.
I have been able to copy and paste the first set of hit points with a different z value by changing the alignment but the names are duplicates.
Is there an easy way to change all of the names from "LEVEL_1_PT1","LEVEL_1_PT2",etc... to " LEVEL_2_PT1","LEVEL_2_PT2",etc...?

Thank you and best regards,

Probes compensate offline in animation mode but not in execution ode on the machine

Part program animation offline(pic1), tip diameter compensates nicely in the animation. During execution on the machine there is no tip compensation. Anybody know what makes this happen?

Symmetry

Hello.

I am trying to evaluate the symmetry of 2 holes to a cylinder (datum A). I have created a point at each hole with COLPTS and then created a midpoint with SYMPNT. I believe I now need 2 constructed planes or axes, offset equally from the cylinder origin.

How do I create offset theoretical planes or axes?

Also on the symmetry input form, there are inputs for "Axis" and "Projection plane". Do I need to specify something in these as my datum is a cylinder?

Thanks.

Calibration Issue

Hey all
We ve gotten a problem with our autocalibration program.
The first tip (master tip) calibrates normally. It starts in A0B0 and then calibrates all the other angles.
But when it swaps to all the other tips, they start the calibration in the angle A5B0 (and then changes to A0B0)
(also before the tip starts calibrating, i can see the probe dialog opens for one second then closes automatically(then it changes the tip from a0b0 to a5b0)

Im scared this will affect the measuring result
Anyone has any idea what the problem can be?
and will this calibration routine affect our measurments?

Thanks

Hi,
is there any way i can import Probe Rack & calibration sphere in the Graphic display window,
I was able to import the machine easily but couldn't find any option for rack and calibration sphere.
Need exact location of these as to create program in offline mode.

Thanks.

Dimension to midpoint of radius, not the centerpoint

Hello everyone. I am having trouble trying to dimension to the midpoint of this radius callout, rather than the center. In the drawing, shown below, there is the .244 dimension from the centerline of the 45° BSC angle to the midpoint of the radius. I have adjusted my alignment to fit the 45° BSC angle and have measured a line on the 40° surface, measured the radius as vector points and a constructed circle, and have made a cast point to the cylinder (the origin). I have tried making a pierce point from the line, to the origin (cast point), to the circle (.100 radius) but it is not exactly at nominal. Is there a way to properly inspect this dimension?

Sample Hit Retract/Search Distance

Hey guys, brand new to PC DMIS.

I'm working with no CAD model and a very uneven surface. I figured out how to use sample hits to ensure my probes are hitting dead nuts (circle features), but the surface is so bad that the machine is crashing trying to take the sample hit on the surface. Is there a way to change the search distance for the sample hit? Is there a better/different approach entirely?

Thanks in advance

Issues Scanning Calibration Ball

I recently took PC-DMIS for CMM 201-202 and we learned how to run a calibration using a scan probe.

I'm now trying to get my CMM to do this and I'm running into issues.

In the class the probe would make a circle around the ball, then make a triangle hitting three points around the surface. Then it would do all of that again quicker. When I try to do it myself it will only scan one circle around the diameter of the ball then stop.

I've already done my lower matrix calibration and I'm using the settings in the eLearning Supplement book that are listed for my scanning attachment, which is a HP-S-X1H. I've tried redoing the lab multiple times and I can't figure out what I'm missing.

I'm running PC-DMIS CAD++ Ver. 2018 R1 - Build #664 (Service Pack 9) with the above mentioned HP-S-X1H scan attachment.

Please help!!!

When exporting a file to .igs format, points are invisible in Autodesk Inventor. I trying different option in exporting settings, but in Inventor visible are line, circle, plain bat not points.
Where may the problem be, what am I doing incorrectly? Whether it's Pc-dmis or Inventora?
I'm use Pc-dmis cad 2018 R2.

Please help.

Projection? Help with Dimension.

Hi guys,

Trying to achieve a dimension (attached) any ideas?

So far I've measured the external 'flange' as a cone. Then after checking the PC Dmis help center, I read that if I measured a circle I could project that selecting the measured circle and a plane (Which I have created on the 'lip') This didn't produce the value I was looking for.

Thanks!
Glen

Hi all, I am having a problem with program written by someone else, the holes diameters should be .250" measuring .212"on the cmm, the profile in showing to be oversize, all other hole also shows undersize, an its actually not,,, any reason why this could be happening

Laserscanned a part, got good coverage and I am very satisfied with the scan:

Applying a colormap however, renders this:

It feels like I have tried every setting under the sun in the dialog below, but haven't been able to get a colormap coverage that represents my point cloud.

Form Only Profile Reprting OOT

I've found the answer to this before, but can't find it. Anyone remember what setting you change, to prevent PC-DMIS from reporting a Form Only profile out of tolerance, based on the min value?

What is the best correlation method?

Hello everyone, normally in my workplace exchanges of programs between different cmm or measurement equipment are experienced and being honest I have not found the best method to document these practices as well as to establish the best limit of correlation between the measurement equipment, in last days I found that the statistical control tool has a so-called "Dispersion Analysis" and offers something called "Pearson Coefficient" which provides a data indicating the strength of the correlation between two variables, does anyone have a method to document the correlation between different measuring equipment?

How to rename a part file that is already imported?

Hey Everybody,

I have already created the cad file and imported the iges file.
I have made the program and it works well.
I was wondering how to change the name of the part file, because it is printing out on the top of the report, and I do not want that name on the report.
Is there some way to change the part name after the program has already been created?
Or, how would I change the report template so for this program I can type in the part number I want to use?

Thank you.

Program to New CMM

$

Hello,
I am sure I am missing something here.

I am trying to setup and run parts on my new CMM . It is running PC DIMS 2019 R1. I am taking the programs and CAD files from an older CMM that is still currently running these parts. This one is running 2012 MR1 PC DIMS. The problem I am having is that when open a program it is using or still referring to the probes that were in the old CMM. It does not see the probes that are in the new CMM.

Anyone have an idea or 2.
