I have been out for a couple weeks, started my old DEA, opened PC DMIS, machined homed fine, when I go to open a file my usual file folder that has all my programs it does not show up. I went to my backup drive, program starts and then program ( PC-DMIS) disappears like I have hit the exit button.

Available characters for use in DATUM DEFINITIONS command
I'm using PCDMIS 2019 Build #406....I realize that we are restricted to using only 2 alpha and/or numeric characters for the defined Datum's name, but are there any others that can be used WORRY FREE? I say worry free because I've seemingly had success with using quote ( " ) and apostrophe ( ' ), but have seen some quirky crap with the stability of the code when using XactMeasure.

Just trying to figure why offline is fast and cmm is slow.
Hi all.
Most times of late, especially since moving to 2018 R1, I've noticed that when I program offline and review my program the animation runs quite rapidly and sometimes I need to slow it down (F5) but when I place it on the cmm it slows to a snail's crawl. Have not been able to adjust any speeds on the cmm or anything that I can think of to speed it up l Seriously, it sometimes takes a minute or more to move around a diameter of say 3 inches as well as probe changes. I need to speed things up or we will never get any through put off the cmm; Any ideas?

Again about "addition of a new stylus"
I would like to add 0.8BY35mm stylus which is not in the drop down list.
I found
a PROBE.DAT file in the directory of "/C:\Program Files\Hexagon\PC-DMIS 2017 R1 64-bit", and
a USRPROBE.DAT file in the directory of "C:\ProgramData\Hexagon\PC-DMIS\2017 R1\nccontrollers\SIEMENS"
No other "PROBE.DAT" and "USRPROBE.DAT" is under C:\
The manual said the locations suppose to be
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Hexagon\PC-DMIS\<version> for PROBE.DAT
C:\ProgramData\Hexagon\PC-DMIS\<version> for USRPROBE.DAT.
And I noticed that the TIPs and EXTENSIONs in the PROBE.DAT and USEPROBE.DAT are different from the Probe drop-down list.
Even I copied the USRPROBE.DAT file to the location where the manual mentions, it seems my PC-DMIS does not recolonize the USRPROBE.DAT.
Please give me a guide how to add the stylus
Thank you.

New cmm opportunity
Hello, i have recently been offered an opportunity to take a job as a CMM Tech, i feel like i have a decent understanding of GD&T and a good general idea of how a CMM works, as well as the know-how to measure parts effectively by hand, however...
I don't know hardly anything about PC-DMIS, i have watched some Youtube videos (there isnt much there), and tried to find a readme or general tutorial for set up (anything really) all to no avail, Just wondering if anyone can point in the direction of any good resources?
The company i will be working for said they would be doing on the job training and send me to the Hexagon Training facility so maybe i'm getting too far ahead of myself, i generally am quite proficient with new software but i want some kind of idea what exactly i am getting myself into, Is this software user friendly? is it full of bugs? How do i not crash the thing the first time i try it out?Lol
Maybe i just need more to read so any resources that may dive deeper into GD&T would be helpful as well.
Thanks

Since I went from 2012MR1 to 2016 the files where tools, probe changer and etc.has been moved into different locations.Noticed my computer is been acting funny and would like to know going forward in the future to newer versions what file do I need to back in a folder that will cover the tip builds, personnel setting (colors, screen setups) probe changer info and anything else one needs to backup. My .prg and .aln are backed up on a server, these files will also be put in a folder on the server but I need to know which ones I need. Thanks

Loading/Unloading issues from the MCR20 probe rack, PH10M re indexing
Loading/Unloading issues from the MCR20 probe rack - PH10M head tries to re index to 0,0 while above the probe slot during pickup and crashes
I just setup the MCR20 rack, calibrated, set my clearance move, docking speed and all the goods (not my first time)
When the machine moves to the rack it hesitates on the drive over (like its thinking) goes to my set point, drives to the rack, aggressively loads probe into the slot then moves out to go to the next slot and the PH10M tries to re index to 0,0 while its picking up the next probe which im sure you can imagine... doesnt look good or work for that matter lol.
First time running into this issue, I have recalibrated the rack a couple times with my master probe (2x30). I could be wrong and looking over something but I dont think the issue is in probe build or rack calibration, seems deeper...
any help would help, if help is hard to find help me find help to help out, help.

Datums in the true position dialogue box.
Hi,
I changed jobs and my new company has the exact same PCDMIS program as the old company. However, when I go to the GD&T dialogue boxes it is totally different.
For example, on true position you could create datums and draw the True Position callout in the dialogue box exactly like it was on the print. Now, you can't even create your datums
or select MMC or anything. I know I'm missing something simple. LOL
Thanks,
Jason

Hi all, any help would be grateful. I am using the cmm running Quindos 7 to find a discrete point in space for x,y,z coordinates while touching onto a pressure gauge. At the point of maximum pressure I would like quindos to read from the gauge and import the results into the program. I can do this manually with inqval etc however, as this is required in multiple locations I would like to automate this?

Deviation from Fit - Individual Points
Is it possible to see the individual point data and the deviation from fit within features? (Auto or Probed Features) Example, an autocircle with 15 points, it creates a Least_SQR circle. Can I see what points deviate most from the fit? Can I deselect or eliminate some points and recalculate the circle? Then reapply the points to get back to the original?

Loop problems and Questions
I have a problem with a loop and position dimensions in loop. I have a fixture for 6 parts each 150mm apart. First I made manual alignment on the fixture (ROC_A1_6G_FIXTURE), then on the part (A1_POM1,A1_POM2,A2_POM_PART) for DCC part alignment and then A3_DRW (alignment on the drawing). At the beginning of the program I input data for CYCLE, number of PARTS on the fixture and CAVITY of the first part.
The code is bellow and it measure only first part 6 times.
