I'm having a bit of a dispute with a customer.
The attached blueprint shows the feature in question. The customer is measuring from the A Datum surface, down to the features in question, and reporting distance between. For tolerance, they are using the .2 in the surface profile dimension. So they see it as 4.4 +/- .2.
I say, a Basic dimension with no FCF is a reference dimension, and the .2 Surface Profile is a feature unto itself, and the correct way to report it is with the surface profile function and a tolerance of .2.
The issue is, they are having a function issue, and while the .2 Surface Profile checks good, the Basic, is not 4.4, or in the incorrect tolerance they've applied.
Am I completely bonker's here? Or correct?
