I understand surface profile tolerancing but I haven't actually done it with CMM
I have a drawing that has many features dimensioned but there is this note:
OMITTED TOLERANCES SHALL BE (profile symbol) 0.10 A | B | C FROM CAD FILE GEOMETRY
Features that fall under this note are not arbitrarily curved surfaces. A milled pocket, a cutaway, even a plane....basically, the features could have been hard dimensioned if they wanted to.
Now my question is can PCDMIS compare hits with a CAD file and derive the surface deviation from ideal CAD model ??
I have a bridge CMM, with articulating head, and probe tip rack.
If so, could someone please kindly tell me how to do so.
Many thanks.
