Outlier filtering

I don't do much filtering cause I've really never had the need to however on this current part we are cutting plastic and titanium at the same time. We are currently cutting cylinders or through holes thru the plastic and into the titanium. The chips from the titanium sometime get caught in the cutter and leave a gouge or groove in the plastic. I am measuring series of vector points and constructing a cylinder out of them. The customer has asked if we can filter the points that hit the gouge which would be the outliers.

To achieve this would I have to construct a set of the points, filter it and then construct a cylinder out of the filtered set?

The grooves or gouges are different on every part and not every part is resulting in an OOT measurement.

TIA

Jesse
