I have a part that has an I.D. sphere and an O.D. cylinder that we are checking concentricity. Every part is measuring OOT. When I change the evaluation method of the sphere from least squares to inner tangential element, the part is good. Does anybody have an explanation of which evaluation method is appropriate in this instance? I don't want to say the good parts are bad or vice versa. From my understanding, the ITE method will work as a more functional check than the LSQ, but which is more appropriate?
