Equate Alignment Frustrations

I am using 2018 R1. I have a part that has different datums on both sides, some of which can only be reached from one side. From what I've read it seems that the Equate Alignment would be the best fit for what I'm looking for, which is to allow me to use datums that I measured in the first setup in some of the dimensions for features I'm measuring in the 2nd setup. I've found several posts and have read them extensively, but I can't seem to get this to work. I did find one other post that had the same issue that I'm having. So I'm using CAD in my program. I create the initial manual/dcc alignments, no problem. Then, just as a test, I threw in a couple of other measured features. Then I put in a comment to flip the part over, recall the startup alignment, and switch to manual mode. I choose my features off the CAD for my 2nd manual alignment. I execute them, and everything seems to work except... my probe now shows upside down in my graphic display window. My original zplus plane for my first manual alignment was on the granite, so I picked points on the CAD and reversed the vector. Now the same zplus plane is facing up, but no matter what I try as far as changing targets, theos etc, pcdmis thinks it's still facing down. Any suggestions?
