Hello,
I have a link that I am attempting to measure with both PC-DMIS 2016 on our Sheffield and with Calypso 2016 on our Zeiss. It consists of two cylindrical I.D.'s, perpendicular to one another, connected by a cylindrical shank. I moved to Calypso after having issues measuring in PC-DMIS, but the problems still persist. Both I.D.'s are datums, and the shank is a datum. One I.D. has it's Position called out to the shank, the other I.D. has it's position called out to the first I.D. and the shank. When I calculate Position of the second I.D., the deviation in Z is approximately .005"-.006" although measurement with an indicator shows about .001" max. The deviation in X (centerline) matches the indicator almost perfectly. I am setting up my alignment as follows:
Level to first I.D.
Rotate to shank
Z origin at shank
X, Y origin at first I.D.
There is approximately .002" taper in the shank and the I.D.'s are less than one degree out of complete perpendicularity. I am setting up my measurement plan as follows:
Scan two circular paths on first I.D.
Scan four semicircular paths, close to the ends, on the shank
Rotate A90B0 and scan two circular paths on second I.D.
Flipping/Rotating the part does not change the results at all. Does anybody have any suggestions as to what may be going on here?
Thank you
