Flatness on a Mid Plane

How do I measure the flatness of a midplane? ASME Y14.5-2009 allows a flatness on a feature of size but PC-DMIS keeps saying the plane does not have enough point data for analysis even though the two planes that were used to construct the mid plane can have individual flatness no problem.
