PCD-111793 - Modified the procedure to map laser probes with a third axis to increase accuracy.

PCD-151040 - Improved the design to compute the actual on 2D auto features. We now project the measured feature to its nominal plane.

PCD-158884 - Fixed a Datum reference frame error message so that it isn't hidden behind another window.

PCD-160838 - Fixed an issue where a generic Circle command that referenced polar coordinates did not appear correctly in the Graphic Display window.

PCD-161247 - Fixed an issue with marked parent and child mode commands in Thickness Scan and Thickness Gage.

PCD-163762 - Fixed an issue where PC-DMIS disabled some toolbars when you selected the Cancel button in the Arm 2 Execution dialog box. This issue also caused PC-DMIS to stop working when you closed the application.

PCD-165202 - Fixed an issue where the size of the inspection routine was increased when you modified the Pointcloud Colormap command.

PCD-165522 - Fixed an issue where PC-DMIS stopped working when you tried to print a legacy Hyper report directly.

PCD-165593 - Fixed an issue where PC-DMIS was not responding when you use a star tip.

PCD-165693 - Fixed an issue with the Round Slot icon in the feature list.

PCD-165719 - Fixed a tessellation issue that affected some planar surfaces.

PCD-166088 - Fixed a tessellation issue that caused spheres to render incorrectly.

PCD-166331 - Fixed an issue where the clearplane was drawn in an incorrect location.

PCD-166498 - Fixed the move after a 4-axis scan to reflect changes in TS 1.5.

PCD-167535 - Fixed an issue where a measurement routine that contained a Feature Control Frame (FCF) with many features took a long time to partially execute (Ctrl + E).

PCD-167602 - Fixed an issue where PC-DMIS stopped responding when you selected a surface profile GD&T.

PCD-168126 - Fixed an issue where the extended sheetmetal features were not written to the xstats11.tmp file.

PCD-168840 - Fixed an issue where PC-DMIS stopped responding for a Vision 2D profile feature with a nominal form filter.

PCD-169610 - Fixed the rotation of an indexing head in the I++ client.

PCD-169660 - Fixed an issue where the lower-level matrix could not be created and the tool changer didn't work properly when new names for the X1 probe components were used from the probe.dat file.

PCD-169969 - Fixed an issue where a CIR scan didn't work when the machine axes on Leitz machines were redefined.

PCD-170387 - Fixed an issue where the I++ server wasn't able to detect indexing wrist angles when the client session started.

PCD-170614 - Fixed a Q-DAS Configurator issue where GD&T text was translated.

PCD-171670 - Fixed an issue where the rotary table rotation matrix was not applied to transform the laser probe stripes from sensor to machine co-ordinates.

PCD-172007 - Fixed the I++ server command FindTool for indexing heads with angles different than zero.

Changes were made to improve the user experience based on feedback collected from recent releases.

I went to add a simple yes/no question to an existing program and I got the message "please enter an integer between 1 and 600". Image attached. Does anyone have an idea of what's going on or how I can get around this error? I'm using PCDMIS 2019R1SP4 on windows 10.
Thanks in advance!

Bear with me everyone as this may be a supremely stupid thing to ask. After a weekend away from work I have come in and it seems as if the run window (might not be the correct terminology) when you execute or run a program wont show up. I have done everything I can think of to fix this but I am about to start pulling hair out. Anyone able to help me out here lol.

scanning print point chart into pcdmis

Hi Everyone,
Many moons ago, there was a way to scan a print point chart / page into pcdmis. Does the new version still do this? I did a search, cannot find anything about this. I remember the points laid on the cad, but they were limited, and the feature flag would not move. Does the 2019 r1 have a feature to do this? Just curious.

PCDMIS 2019 XSTATS11.TMP file

Does 2019 output a XSTATS11.tmp file once you've selected Datapage output? It seems that it outputs a .tmp file but instead of appending the data, it makes a new .tmp file for each run so you have multiple files instead of 1 appended file.

Code Error?

So I've got to track CMM "up time", below is the code I came up with. It just pulls some info into variables and then writes them to a .csv file. Issue is sometimes it writes the LASTEXECUTIONTIME and sometimes it doesn't. Is it an issue with my code or and issues with the demon?

It will record the "program name", date and time every time it runs but it misses the execution time sometimes.

ASSIGN/V1="DEMO_PROGRAM" + ","
ASSIGN/V2=LASTEXECUTIONTIME() + ","
ASSIGN/V3=GETPROGRAMINFO("DATE") + ","
ASSIGN/V4=GETPROGRAMINFO("TIME")
ASSIGN/V5=V1 + V2 + V3 + V4

Alignment from one point

$

Hey folks,

I'm attempting to set up a program where I can touch off on a fixture at one point, set that as my origin, have it measure datum features in DCC, then translate back to car body alignment based on given coordinates on a gauge.

I can get it to touch off on the point and then measure the features, but it doesn't seem to want to revert to the car body alignment following this.

Thanks for the assistance in advance!

Upgrade to 2018 R1 and lost network drive access

We purchased a new CMM last year and have been running V2011 without any problems and this morning we were making the jump to 2018 R1 and cannot open any programs on the network when we were capable of doing before switching to 2018. Print to pdf on the network commands also do not work. I've tried running as admin both online and operator modes and I'm in need of help. The network is accessible using anything other than PC-DMIS 2018.

Thank you!

What you suggested works however the format of the info written to the CSV file can't be subtracted. Is there a way to get the time in PC-DMIS to come out as numbers, the way you can change the format in excel then the math can be done and the reports can be formated as time?

To start off I'm this is my first post and I'm new to CMM. On my Romer arm the Styli keeps coming loose. What is the proper way to install a new/ replacement styli tip? Is Loctite 222 acceptable? And is there a tool to tighten the styli down with? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Status Window Readout

This has probably been asked before but I have searched and searched and not been able to find the information I am looking for. I am using an Auto Circle feature to measure a radius. After my probe measures it, the status window displays X, Z and Diameter. What do I need to do in order for it to display the measurement as a radius rather than a diameter?

Measured features VS CAD model

$

Hi everybody,

I am starting to use our new acquired CMM arm. My question is about the use of the imported CAD model in PC-DMIS measurement routine.

Until now I:
1) imported the file
2) aligned it with the actual part
3) created measured features and created dimensions for the report.

In my understanding I was using the CAD simply as a visual support for the operations.

Next I would like to do is to take the CAD as nominal geometry, and compare the measured points with the actual CAD faces.
For instance, I would like to pick points on my part and have the distance of the picked point from the nominal surface.
What I am missing is how to create a feature from the CAD.

What are the options?

Thank you very much in advance

Multiple programs lights out question

$

So here is the situation and what I'm being tasked with.

My boss wants to convince our company to buy a larger CMM. Our current largest CMM is a Global 12.30.10 and he wants one literally double the size of it (at least in X and Y but possibly Z). The owner is open to it but we have to justify use of it. We have a few large parts that we run using equate alignments but not too many. The larger CMM could help us get contracts for more large and even larger parts but being a smart company, we aren't banking on that. The company recently purchased 4 (2 currently installed and running) pallet changing CNC machines for the purpose of doing lights out machining. When those get fully online and the programmers and machinists are up to speed on them, we will be slammed with parts in FAI. With a CMM of the size we want, there will be a ton of table space to setup multiple parts (when we don't have large parts) and do lights out inspection but they would likely not be the same part.

So here is the idea/nitty gritty question... Is there a way to have the CMM run one part, save the program, close the program, open the next, run it, and so on or is there another way to get the same result? Just thought of this... can I create one program that recalls, runs and saves the programs I tell it to while still setting the read points first?

The intent would be to analyze the programs in the morning, save the reports, ect. I would assume that I would have to either setup external alignments or do a read point alignment and set the read points in all the programs to be run before starting the run sequence.

I mainly program with read point alignments already and setting up square to the CMM axis wouldn't be a limiting factor. Doing one of the 2 ideas above I would set the read points then F3 the comment that stops the program for setting the read point so when execution starts, it won't be stopped to set the read point again.

The short version is, how can I get DMIS to open, execute, save, and close multiple programs automatically?
